Course Information
Art IV is for students interested in honing technical skill and developing personal style. Students in this course will also focus on portfolio development. Students will be expected to research and develop projects in and out of class time. Students will produce work that communicates ideas through manipulation of subject matter, media and processes as well as evaluate works during formal critiques.

Action Painting
Students will punch, throw, sling or splatter to create large scale abstract art. |
Pen Technique - Still Life
Students will fill a page with stippling, hatching, crosshatching and scumbling as well as experimental mark making. Students will then create a still life that focuses on line quality and rendering of form with pen. |
Travel poster
Students will choose a location (real or imagined) and create a travel poster using watercolor |
Textile Design
students will create a repeating pattern |
Art With A Message
Students will use visual symbols to communicate a message |
Stained Glass
Students will design and build a small panel. |
Zines
Students will create and distribute a zine |
Scratch board
Students will use scratch board to create a high contrast image. |
